The Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC) will meet for its twenty-seventh session in Paris on 26 June - 5 July 2013, preceded by the forty-six46th session of the IOC Executive Council, as a steering committee to the Assembly, on 25 June.
The Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC), composed of 145 Member States, is the principal organ of the IOC and establishes its general policy and main lines of work. The IOC Assembly meets once per biennium, while an Executive Council meets every year.
Side events will be organized during the session, including and exhibit by Tara Océans Expedition.
