National Sheikh Bahai
Techno-preneurship Festival in Isfahan Starts Today Until 14 May 2011

The National Sheikh Bahai Techno-prenuership Festival officially opens today, 12 May in the city of Isfahan, Iran. This annual event, supported by UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office (UTCO), will last until 14 May, held in Abbasi Hotel, with the main objective to promote entrepreneurship development among scientist by giving recognition to outstanding achievements in the field of techno-preneurship. The Festival is held in two sections including the “Competition” and “Non-Competition or Training Workshop” parts. The best techno-preneurs as well as business planners will be identified and rewarded during the Competitive part while technical trainings will be provided in the Non-Competition part focusing this year on three themes: “Negotiation Skills for SMEs and Knowledge-Based Companies for International Cooperations”, “Intellectual Property Right in SMEs and Knowledge-Based Companies”, and “Moving to the 3rd Generation of Science & Technology Parks and Incubators”.

As a practice since 2004, UTCO through its Natural Science Unit, has committed to the partnership with Isfahan Regional Centre for Development of Science Parks and Incubators (IRIS) as well as Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) in the effort to encourage technopreneurs, business planners and the technopreneur sponsors to work together, through innovative ways and mechanisms, in order to improve roles of science and technology for development.
