Description of Research Track

The research track of UNESCO Mobile Learning will assemble prominent mobile learning researchers, programme managers and policy makers from around the world to:

1)     understand the needs of different stakeholder groups in regards to research findings and monitoring and evaluation data;

2)     discuss how research can inform and support the work of teachers by improving the policy environment in which teaching takes place;

3)     explore the capacity of existing research to improve policies and programmes and to identify research directions which will impact future policy formulation and programme delivery.

Findings from the meeting will provide the foundation for a short UNESCO publication to be released in the summer of 2014.  The publication will highlight areas of consensus and disagreement and offer recommendations for improving mobile learning research and its relationship to policy.  Participants of the research meeting will be credited in the publication and invited to review and comment on early drafts.
