Regional Conference on "Youth, Peacebuilding and Regional Solidarity: Lessons from Africa"

UNESCO will organize a two-day regional conference in Banjul, the Gambia, from 9 to 10 May 2017, which will bring together youth leaders from across Africa and other partners to celebrate the victory of people and peaceful democratic transition in the Gambia. The event is organized in collaboration with several partners including CODESRIA, PAYCOP, AAPI, African Union and OHCHR.

The overall objectives of this activity are

- to strengthen the capacities of youth to lead action at both community and national levels, within the context of the goals of the UNESCO Youth Strategy 2014 -2021, and

- to provide the framework for constructive partnerships to be developed with and between youth organizations and youth-related stakeholders.
