Overview:
This project aims to strengthen the national capacities of Suriname and Dutch Caribbean islands for the effective safeguarding of ICH and will include the following activities: (i) three joint trainings on the implementation of the convention, community-based inventorying and safeguarding of ICH covering the Dutch Caribbean islands; (ii) five island consultations (except Aruba) to involve all stakeholders and identify local needs; (iii) seven field exercises on inventorying ICH on each of the islands and Suriname; (iv) a workshop on the implementation of the Convention in Suriname; (v) and a workshop on community-based inventorying in Suriname.
