What we do
UNDP Uganda supports the Government of Uganda to achieve sustainable development, create opportunities for empowerment, protect the environment, minimise natural and man-made disasters, build strategic partnerships, and improve the quality of life for all citizens.
Our interventions are informed by the UNDP Uganda’s Transformative Country Programme 2016-2020 and the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2016-2020 which informs UN programming in the country. Our work is aligned to and supports national efforts to achieve the second National Development Plan (NDP 11) 2016-2020 and the Uganda Vision 2040. This alignment enables UNDP to contribute to national development efforts and to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
In Uganda, we work with the government and other actors to eliminate poverty, inequality & exclusion to achieve sustainable development.
