Description
L'Ile des Palmier, l'Ile de Sanani et l'Ile Ramkine sont inhabitées et constituent une ressource scientifique naturelle et culturelle. La réserve s'étend sur 5 km2 environ. La grande diversité biotique des iles et les conditions climatiques favorables à la vie en font un lieu de séjour et / ou de nidification des oiseaux résidents et migrateurs. La faune et la flore marines y sont également bien représentées. Certaines espèces végétales en voie de dispartition se sont acclimatées sur les iles. Il y subsiste les vestiges d'importantes constructions romaines dont les matériaux ont été réutilisés à l'Epoque Croisée. Lors des fouilles archéologiques en 1973 on y a dégagé une cour centrale dont les côtés nord et ouest sont bordés de petites salles. Une tombe de l'Epoque Croisée y a également été découverte.
