Massive Open Online Course - Inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean: Research, Policy and Management of Social Transformations

UNESCO's Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme, through the UNESCO's Regional Bureau for Science in Latin America and the Caribbean, in association with the Iberoamerican School of Administration and Public Policies from CLAD, and in alliance with several universities, think tanks, government entities and international organizations, has conceived a Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) in Spanish on "Inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean: research, policy and management for social transformations".

100% online course (MOOC format, FutureLearn platform) composed by:
O Theoretical-methodological contents.
O Institutional experiences.
O Case studies.
O Voices of actors (experts, policy makers, public managers, activists, communicators, social networks).
O Debating Communities (forums).
O Learning progress monitoring exercises.

Pilot edition, oriented to ten countries of the region, selected according to criteria of geographical distribution, population scope, progress in the theme:

Argentina | Chile | Colombia | Honduras | Ecuador
Guatemala | Mexico | Paraguay | Dominican Republic | Venezuela

- Duration: 4 weeks, with a Theme Module per week. Each Module has 6 content components, on a central theme and with guide-questions.

- Free Course: a certificate of participation could be requested, under certain conditions.

- Language : Spanish.

- Launch date for inscriptions: 20 September 2017.

Objectives:

• Contribute to the strengthening of the nexus between research and public policies, with emphasis on policies against inequalities, providing an overview of their challenges and perspectives.
• Identify tools, strategies, and practices that make it possible to put knowledge and research at the service of public policies aimed at reducing inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Identify the challenges and opportunities of research and public policies to help reduce inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
