In the framework of the project "South Sudan National Archives " and under the outreach programme developed for the Archives project with the aim of presenting the archival collection to the wider public a specially designed exhibition on a selected number of documents will be launched at the Parliament of the Republic of South Sudan.
This activity aims to engage with the general public, and key stakeholders on the role archives can play in promoting peace, reconciliation and nation building in South Sudan. The archive forms the primary historical resource for the development of South Sudanese national identity. A carefully selected group of 20 documents will be exhibited with the exhibition launch taking place at the Parliament of the Republic of South Sudan and subsequently in two additional central locations (Customs, Kinyokonyo market) of the capital.
The main objectives of the exhibition are:
1. To raise awareness on the national Archive and make them more widely accessible to the general public in South Sudan and beyond.
2. To bring national focus on the role archives can play in nurturing peace and reconciliation in South Sudan
