The Intergovernmental Committee meets once a year to monitor the implementation of the 2005 Convention for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

During this session, the Committee will partake in a number of debates and will need to take important decisions, namely: establish the groundwork for the revision of the Operational Guidelines on Article 19, including the structure for the Periodic Report; examine the Secretariat’s report of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) and review its fundraising strategy, approve new projects as well as examine the second external evaluation’s report and its recommendations. Additionally, the Committee will have to determine their future activities for 2018-2019.

This session will be marked by the launch of the second edition of the Global Report on the implementation of the 2005 Convention.
