Until 31 December, the 2017 Call for Entries of the Shenzhen Design Award for Young Talents (SDAY) is open to find the new young talents of the design field within the Network. The Call is organized by Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Office and Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Association (SDPA), in association with the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
From 16 to 25 October 2017, Montréal, a UNESCO Creative City of Design, had the honour of hosting professionals from around the world as part of its very first World Design Summit. At the summit’s conclusion, an important declaration was adopted by many international organizations representing designers, architects, urban planners, and landscape architects.
The VII International Cultural Forum held in Ulyanovsk (Russian Federation) on 14 and 15 September on the theme “Culture and Business: Creative Capital of Modern City” witnessed the participation of high-level representatives, including the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region, heads of UNESCO Creative Cities Granada (Spain) and Heidelberg (Germany), educational institutions, enterprises, mass media, artists and cultural professionals.
From 2 to 30 November, the Creative City of Krakow (Poland) led by the Krakow Festival Office, and the e-book platform Woblink.com, are organizing for the fifth time “ReadPL”, a unique flagship initiative that combines literature and new technology.

64 cities from 44 countries have been designated as UNESCO Creative Cities by Director-General, Irina Bokova. They join a Network at the frontline of UNESCO’s efforts to foster innovation and creativity as key drivers for a more sustainable and inclusive urban development. This network attracts growing interest from local authorities.
Since 1 October 2017 to 15 December, Bilbao, a UNESCO Creative City of Design, organizes a Call for Applications to young designers around the world, launched within the framework of its International Art and Fashion (BIAAF) platform. The International Art and Fashion (BIAAF) is a non-profit platform created by professionals belonging to very different areas, and dedicated to the discovery and launch of young promising fashion designers from all over the world.
