Within the overall framework of the IOC Programmme and Budget 2016-2017, in particular ER 6 of MPII MLA3 and in particular the project: GLO0092534 - Strengthening Global Governance of Large Marine Ecosystems and Their Coasts through Enhanced Sharing and Application of LME/ICM/MPA Knowledge and Information Tools : LME:LEARN and also GLO0095356 - IW:Learn 4 - International Waters: Learning Exchange and Resource Network, the Individual consultant will work under the overall purview of ADG/IOC and the direct supervision of GEF IW:LEARN and LME:LEARN Project Manager.

o A statement indicating how their qualifications and experience make them suitable for the assignment;

CLOSED, 2-MONTH CONSULTANCY FOR OCEAN TEACHER GLOBAL ACADEMY PROJECT

Programme Specialist for IOC/UNESCO Secretariat in Paris

IOC/UNESCO is recruiting a scientific officer with expert and managerial experience, under full-time fixed term contract, based in Paris, France.

As Programme Specialist, you will join the IOC/UNESCO secretariat, operating under guidance of its 148 Member States, working closely with the ocean observing scientific community. You will focus on observations coordination by networks working through JCOMM, contributing to a distributed secretariat supporting GOOS. You will maintain active communications, and manage budget, personnel, project tracking and execution to strengthen coordination, working together to deliver sustained ocean observations and information for society.
