This strategy was developed against the backdrop of a rapidly changing environment, with special attention given to the 17 new sustainable development goals (SDGs) the global community has set
itself to achieve by 2030.Designing the  strategy also involved reflecting on what GESCI has achieved since its creation in 2004.

To be a global leader and expert organization in supporting the utilization of new technologies to transform learning and empower individuals and communities with competencies and skills for inclusive and sustainable development.

The forum will take place from 18- 19 April, 2018.

On 30th August 2017, GESCI, in partnership and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Finland, organized the African Leadership for Knowledge Society Forum.

Senior officials from knowledge society related ministries and institutions of 16 African countries and representatives from development partners attended the forum.

As part of the process to integrate ICTs in teaching and learning, GESCI and The MasterCard Foundation have distributed laptops, modems and digital projectors to schools in  four selected counties in Kenya.

GESCI -Global E Schools and Communities Initiative, The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) and The President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) of the United Republic of Tanzania signed MoU on 7th February, 2017.

The MoU was signed in Dar- Es Salam Tanzania by Mr. Jerome Morrissey, CEO of GESCI and the Dy. Permanent Secretaries of MoEST and PORALG.

On 6th December, 2016 The Global E- Schools and Communities Initiative (GESCI) marked the end of the first phase of the Digital Creative Media programme.This one year initiative , with the 21 participants, having completed their training in Animation, Games and Apps design and development and Music and Sound Design, were awarded certificates in AKE –Digital Creative Media and progressed to the final phase of the programme – the formal launch for seven  start up companies

GESCI signed on June 8 a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education of Côte d’Ivoire.

The agreement includes support to the development of digital schools of excellence through GESCI’s African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI), which will reach out to 20 secondary schools in Côte d’Ivoire starting 2017. 

Joint actions will seek to leverage the untapped capacity of women for Africa’s development. 

Leadership program will foster women’s capacity to influence policies and increase the participation of girls in STEM.
