World Arabic Language Day - Round Table on Arabic Language and the New Technologies
World Arabic Language Day is celebrated every year on 18 December. This year at UNESCO, a Round Table will be dedicated to Arabic Language and the New Technologies, on 18 and 19 December 2017. A concert and an exhibition will also be organized.
The sessions will be animated by renowned experts and high-level representatives on the following themes:
- Arabic Language and Science (cultural heritage and knowledge perspective);
- Language Planning and its role in the dissemination of Arabic Language;
- Language engineering and the use of new technologies in the teaching of Arabic language;
- Arabic Language: present and future.
The celebration also resonates with the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022), for which UNESCO is the lead UN Agency.
