The 6th CulturalMente Santista Highlights the 2030 UN Agenda

The 6th CulturalMente Santista Highlights the 2030 UN Agenda

When:
Fri, 12/08/2017 to Sun, 12/10/2017

From 8 to 10 December, the UNESCO Creative City of Film Santos will host the 6th edition of the CulturalMente Santista - Santos Cultural and Creative Forum. This year, this major cultural festival will be highlighting the United Nations Agenda 2030.

Launched in 2012, the CulturalMente Santista aims to raise awareness in a diversity of audiences about the key contribution of culture for development, and foster participation in cultural life. The CulturalMente Santista lies on the fact that the cultural region’s identity is essential for social development and citizenship.

As a city’s official event, foreseen by Municipal Law n° 3.142, it innovates in its 6th edition by proposing discussions about the central role of culture and creativity as enablers of sustainable development, and their crucial importance in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

The 17 SDGs will be promoted through diversified activities involving different creative fields – such as Crafts and Folk Art, Film, Design, Gastronomy, Music and Literature – as well as public cultural policies debates, among the Secretaries of Culture of the Santos Metro Area.

Emphasis will be also put on international sharing of good practices, which will be showcased through a panel involving 5 UNESCO Creative Cities. Santos along with Amarante (Portugal), Dénia (Spain), Durán (Ecuador), Óbidos (Portugal), will thus present, virtually, good practices regarding the Agenda 2030. The festival provides free entrance for all activities and will take place on the ground floor of the Cultural Center Patrícia Galvão (Avenida Senador Pinheiro Machado, 48, Vila Mathias, Santos, Sao Paolo, Brazil).
