Thematic Monitoring
UNESCO Secretariat pursues policy monitoring activities to assess the impact of the Convention through the collection and analysis of data, information and best practices based on the Parties’ quadrennial periodic reports and other sources, and share the results through the publication of a biennial Global Report to monitor the implementation of the Convention.
Particular attention is given to monitoring the impact of Articles 16 and 21 on Preferential Treatment and International consultation and coordination. UNESCO also pursue synergies in the monitoring of activities of related international standard setting instruments, in particular the 1980 Recommendation concerning the Status of the Artist.
