Call for Applications: Bilbao International Fashion and Design Contest

Call for Applications: Bilbao International Fashion and Design Contest

When:
Sun, 10/01/2017 to Fri, 12/15/2017

Since 1 October 2017 to 15 December, Bilbao, a UNESCO Creative City of Design, organizes a Call for Applications to young designers around the world, launched within the framework of its International Art and Fashion (BIAAF) platform.

The International Art and Fashion (BIAAF) is a non-profit platform created by professionals belonging to very different areas, and dedicated to the discovery and launch of young promising fashion designers from all over the world.

This year again, the BIAAF calls on all young creative fashion designers from all around the world, aged 18 to 35, to participate in the contest and counts with the support and advice of renowned professionals in the fashion and art areas. Participants may enter for two separate categories: Outfit Design or Accessory Design, and submit three sketches for each category.

The jury, set up specifically for the competition and made up of leading professionals in the sector will gather on March 2018 to select 30 finalists from amongst all contestants. These finalists will be asked to complete the manufacture of the other two sketches presented. The jury will gather again in May 2018, and select the winners in both categories.

Considering design as an engine of social and economic change, the BIAAF understands the importance of giving young designers the opportunity to meet, listen to and interact with renowned professionals inside the fashion world. The main goal is to grant young designers international visibility, to make them known to a wider audience and to the media.

Always in touch with emerging designers, renowned fashion schools and fashion industry experts worldwide, the BIAAF is committed to education and capacity building and has developed many activities such as forums, conferences, training courses as well as offering scholarships in prestigious fashion schools.

Young designers from the UNESCO Creative Cities are encouraged to participate in this contest by submitting their entries until 15 December 2017 via http://biaaf.com/concurso.php
