11 June 2018

Building a shared future for humankind through dialogue and cooperation will be the theme of the 1st UNESCO Courier Forum, which will take place at the Organization’s Headquarters on 12 June (3pm to 5.30pm).

The event marks the 1st anniversary of the relaunch of the UNESCO Courier which contributes to UNESCO’s mission to serve as the international community’s laboratory of ideas and is published quarterly both online and in print in nine languages: the six official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), Esperanto, Portuguese, and Sardinian.

Despite many changes over the years and a five-year break due to lack of funding, the magazine still pursues its original mission to promote UNESCO’s ideals, serve as a platform for dialogue between cultures and international debate. Keynote addresses about UNESCO as a laboratory of ideas will then be given by Adama Samassekou, President of the World Humanities Conference, Honorary President of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences, and Wang Yiwei, Director of China’s Institute of International Affairs and Director of Center for European Studies at Renmin University of China.
