International Literacy Day in Cambodia

International and national Literacy Day has been yearly co-organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and UNESCO. At the global level, a special two-day event will be organized on 7-8 September 2017 at UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris. The overall objective is to reflect on what it means to be literate in increasingly digitally-mediated societies and to explore effective literacy policies and programmes that can leverage the opportunities of a digital world. As in previous years, the 2017 UNESCO International Literacy Prizes Awards Ceremony will also take place and reward excellent literacy practices from around the world in connection with the theme of the year. At regional and country levels, several colleagues have already informed us of plans to organize events for ILD.
