It was last year that 700 TVET experts came together during the UNESCO Third TVET Congress in Shanghai, China to discuss the transformation of TVET and set the international agenda for the next five years. Since then, significant progress has been made in strengthening the capacity of the UNEVOC Network to become key actors in enhancing the relevance and quality of TVET.

When TVET takes center stage - WorldSkills Leipzig 2013
The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre participated in WorldSkills for the first time, and co-organized a number of activities during the event together with representatives of UNEVOC Centres from all over the world.

UNESCO-UNEVOC virtual conference on youth and skills From 25 June to 9 July 2013, UNESCO-UNEVOC organized a virtual conference on the e-Forum. Moderated by Dr Gita Subrahmanyam, Research Associate with the London School of Economics Public Policy Group and a Senior Consultant at the African Development Bank, the discussion looked at identifying the factors that promote youth employment, touching upon the role of entrepreneurship education and school-to-work transition. A synthesis report on the discussion will be published soon.
