The Japanese Government

The purpose of the Japanese Funds-in-Trust is to preserve the tangible cultural heritage such as historic monuments and archaeological remains of great value.

A Preparatory Assistance for “The industrial heritage of Barbados: the Story of Sugar” (Barbados) was put on the MarketPlace in 2016. In March 2017, the Japanese Government has approved its funding for US$ 30,000 within a project for SIDS, under the Japanese Funds-in-Trust.

Netherlands Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences

The UNESCO/Netherlands Funds-in-Trust (NFiT) co-operation to support the World Heritage Centre was established in 2001 by the Netherlands Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences with the aim of reinforcing the implementation of the 1972 "Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage".

A Preparatory Assistance for “Deer stones monuments, the Heart of Bronze Age Culture” (Mongolia) was put on the MarketPlace in 2016. In April 2017, the Government of the Netherlands has approved its funding for US$29,050.

Federal Foreign Office of Germany

With its offices in Berlin and Bonn and a network of around 230 missions abroad, the Federal Foreign Office maintains Germany’s relations with other countries as well as with international and supra-national organisations. Because Germany and German society are enmeshed in ever-growing international networks, the Federal Foreign Office promotes intensive interaction and exchange with the world in the fields of business, culture, science and technology, the environment, development issues and many more areas.

An International Assistance request for the development of a National Action Plan for Risk Management at World Heritage Properties in Chile was put on the MarketPlace in 2016. In June 2017, the German Foundation for World Heritage has contributed to the funding of this project for US$27,272.
