STRING SCHOOL IN MEXICO

Some 100 participants will attend the ICTP Latin American String School to be held in Mexico City from 9-27 October. Subtitled "From the Very Basics to the Frontiers of Research," the activity is being hosted locally by the Mexican Academy of Sciences El Colegio Nacional. Lecturers include ICTP staff scientists Seifallah Randjbar-Daemi, Kumar Narain, Matthias Blau and George Thompson, and ICTP Prize recipient Fernando Quevedo. Topics will range from supersymmetry to D-branes to black hole physics. The school is designed as a primer for physicists, mathematicians and graduate students with a basic knowledge of field theory and general relativity.
