    In recent years, Latin America and the Caribbean have seen progress in stemming the impact of HIV. Increased access to treatment, rapid testing technologies, coordinated prevention and education efforts, and the virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission have helped reduce the overall HIV prevalence rate. While encouraging, this figure masks serious, localized epidemics. While HIV prevalence is generally low, prevalence among key affected populations—such as men who have sex with men, transgender women, and sex workers—is particularly high. …

    In 2016 Stonewall commissioned the Centre for Family Research at the University of Cambridge to conduct a survey with young people who are lesbian, gay, bi or trans (or think they might be) on their experiences in secondary schools and colleges across Britain. Between November 2016 and February 2017, 3,713 LGBT young people aged between 11-19, including 402 living in Scotland, completed an online questionnaire. This report represents the responses of these participants living in Scotland. …

    In 2016 Stonewall commissioned the Centre for Family Research at the University of Cambridge to conduct a survey with young people who are lesbian, gay, bi or trans (LGBT), or who think they might be, on their experiences in secondary schools and colleges across Britain. Between November 2016 and February 2017, 3,713 LGBT young people aged 11-19 completed an online questionnaire, and this report presents the findings of this survey.   5. LGBTI in OECD countries: a review

    This paper presents an overview of the socio-economic situation of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender and intersex people (LGBTI), primarily in OECD countries. After investigating the size of this population, the paper zooms in on attitudes toward LGBTI, LGBTI rights and perceived discrimination among LGBTI. It goes on to discuss the empirical strategies used to identify whether LGBTI fare worse than non-LGBTI and provides a systematic review of survey-based and experimental evidence on such an “LGBTI penalty” and its causes. This exploration points to substantial hurdles for LGBTI. …

    The national coalition was established to deliver on the vision of the Australian Government’s National Safe Schools Framework which aims to build safe school communities where diversity is valued, the risk from all types of harm is minimised and all members of the community feel respected, included and supported.   13. Living free and equal: what states are doing to tackle violence and discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people

    In recent years, local and national authorities in countries around the world have adopted wide-ranging measures to address human rights violations against lesbian, gay, bi, trans (LGBT) and intersex people. The present study references more than 200 such initiatives introduced in 65 countries in every region of the world. While not comprehensive, the study provides an overview of policy trends, highlighting positive developments and drawing attention to areas that require further action.
