    Bangladesh responded early and decisively to the potential threat of HIV. In the period since the adoption of the first national strategy in 1985, services have been established and scaled up, particularly for Most At Risk Populations (MARPs).     The term 'Men who have sex with men' frequently shortened to MSM - describes a behaviour rather than a specific group of people.     This pocket guide is a resource to assist health care providers in the sexual health care of men who have sex with men and transgender people in the Greater Mekong sub region. These materials were originally developed and based on the Clinical Guidelines for Sexual Health Care of Transgender People and Men Who Have Sex with Men in Asia.

    This manual is designed specifically for improving sexual health of men who practice sexual intercourse with other men. It also serves as a reference for peer and outreach workers. This manual provides basic information on areas such as HIV transmission/prevention, sexually transmitted infections, condoms/lubricants, health issues on transgendered/transsexual, drugs used by men and advices on dealing with issues that may come up concerning being involved with men, and information for treatment, care, and support.
