In the period since the adoption of the first national strategy in 1985, services have been established and scaled up, particularly for Most At Risk Populations (MARPs). Most female sex workers and People Who Inject Drugs (PWID)) are in contact with services. Among developing countries, Bangladesh (based on recent population size estimations) has achieved among the highest level of needle/syringe distribution per PWID among developing countries in the world. …
The term 'Men who have sex with men' frequently shortened to MSM - describes a behaviour rather than a specific group of people. It includes self-identified gay, bisexual, or heterosexual men, many of whom may not consider themselves gay or bisexual including transgender populations. MSM presents a topic that many governments and certain individuals would prefer not to talk about and choose to be silent on these issues, failing to acknowledge these behaviours and address them, which unfortunately helps the HIV and AIDS epidemic to grow. …

This manual is designed specifically for improving sexual health of men who practice sexual intercourse with other men. It also serves as a reference for peer and outreach workers. This manual provides basic information on areas such as HIV transmission/prevention, sexually transmitted infections, condoms/lubricants, health issues on transgendered/transsexual, drugs used by men and advices on dealing with issues that may come up concerning being involved with men, and information for treatment, care, and support.
