The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between teachers’ attitude towards teaching HIV/AIDS education and students’ knowledge and attitude towards sexual behaviour in secondary schools in the Coast Region of Kenya. The study used descriptive survey research design. The samples comprised 421 respondents of which 33 were teachers and 388 students in 13 secondary schools. Cet article analyse les conceptions d’enseignants et futurs enseignants sur l’éducation à la sexualité dans les trois pays du Maghreb: Tunisie, Algérie, Maroc. Un questionnaire, construit et validé dans le cadre du projet de recherche européen BIOHEAD-Citizen, a été rempli par 1306 enseignants et futurs enseignants de ces trois pays. Des analyses multivariées ont permis d’identifier des différences entre les trois pays, ainsi que certaines convergences, et d’établir des liens entre les conceptions des enseignants sur l’éducation à la sexualité, et leurs opinions religieuses ou politiques. …

This study examined the national discourse about HIV, AIDS, and young people in New Vision, Uganda's leading national newspaper between 1996 and 2011, building from a previous archival analysis of New Vision reporting by Kirby (1986-1995). An information campaign that provided Kenyan teenagers in randomly selected schools with the information that HIV prevalence was much higher among adult men and their partners than among teenage boys led to a 65% decrease in the incidence of pregnancies by adult partners among teenage girls in the treatment group relative to the comparison. This suggests a large reduction in the incidence of unprotected cross-generational sex. The information campaign did not increase pregnancies among teenage couples. …

The study objective was to assess the current status of HIV knowledge, attitudes and behavior (KAB) among employees of Namibian ministries. As most HIV campaigning takes place in the capital of Windhoek, an additional aim was to compare Windhoek to four regions (Hardap, Erongo, Oshana, and Caprivi). Between January and March 2011 a cross-sectional survey was conducted in two Namibian ministries, with participants selected randomly from the workforce.
