Fourth Youth Leadership Workshop on Global Citizenship Education

PAYNCOP’s members will participate in the 4th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED (Global Citizenship Education) organized by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU), from 20 to 26 May 2018 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The one-week Workshop on GCED will focus this year on developing effective advocacy strategies to maximize youth contribution in achieving SDG 4.7 through promotion of global citizenship.

Fifty dynamic youth leaders around the world, including those from developing countries and representatives of marginalized groups, will be expected to fully engage in dialogue and capacity-building training with the objectives to: - deepen youth leaders’ understanding of global citizenship and enhance their advocacy skills, - provide a forum for participating youth leaders to discuss and establish action plans suitable for the implementation of GCED at local, national, and regional levels, - and identify innovative youth-led initiatives on GCED in different regions

Expected Outcomes:

1. Youth participants’ capacity enhanced in implementing GCED at local and global levels
2. Increased commitment of the youth participants in fostering global citizenship
3. Action plans developed by sub-groups for the implementation of follow-up activities
4. Announcement of the vision statement of GCED Youth Network
5. A set of actions of GCED Youth Network established for its future activity
