    This Communication Strategy provides a broad framework that will guide communication on youth and HIV and AIDS in Kenya for the next three years. It intends to address needs and gaps in communication programming identified in the areas of knowledge, skills and self-efficacy, capacity, coordination, policy support and utilisation of services. These issues were identified through a situation analysis conducted at the beginning of developing this strategy, and from consultations with stakeholders implementing HIV and AIDS programmes among the youth.

    A meeting, Sex, Rights and the Law in a World with AIDS, was convened by several organizations to explore why the AIDS response has made relatively little progress on the prevention of sexually transmitted HIV, and what should be done to ensure a more effective long-term response. The meeting was organized for aids2031, a two-year initiative that is exploring what must be done now to change the face of AIDS in the year 2031, 50 years after the discovery of the first cases of AIDS. …

  6. Sex and youth: contextual factors affecting risk for HIV/AIDS. A comparative analysis of multi-site studies in developing countries

    The report identifies the principal findings from each of the three studies along with policy and practice implication. The three studies are: Young people and risk-taking in sexual relations; Community responses to AIDS; Use of the female condom: genders relations and sexual negotiation.
