    A new project by National Public Radio, the Kaiser Family Foundation, and Harvard University's Kennedy School examines Americans' views on sex education in the nations public schools. The survey of general public was conducted among a random nationally representative sample of 1759 respondents 18 years of age or older, including an oversample of parents of children in 7th through 12th grade.

The survey of principals was conducted among 303 principals of public middle, junior and senior high schools across the country.

    This drug abuse prevention handbook is designed to help youth groups around the world identify the real issues that concern them and develop programmes to reach their peers. The philosophy behind this document is that, if substance abuse is to be tackled, young people should lead this effort since they know their own needs better than anyone else.
