The National Policy on HIV and AIDS in the world of work aims to guide the national response to prevention of HIV and AIDS, treatment care and support and mitigate and manage its impact in the workplace, in public, private and informal sectors, while safeguarding and respecting workers' rights in line with the ILO Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS and the world of work and the ILO Recommendation Concerning HIV and AIDS and the World of Work (Recommendation 200). The Policy shall ensure promotion of decent and productive employment in a nondiscriminative environment, where the protection of fundamental rights is upheld to the highest standards, as enshrined in the Constitution of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
