"World Social Science Report" launched by Irina Bokova

On November 15, UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova launched the World Social Science Report 2013: Changing Global Environments at a special event during the 37th session of the UNESCO General Conference, which is currently being held in Paris.

“The social sciences have a critical contribution to make, in helping us understand, imagine, and craft a more sustainable future for all. This is the message of the World Social Science Report 2013” stated the Director-General.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), William Danvers and the Executive Director of the International Social Science Council (ISSC), Heide Hackmann, along with delegates from OECD and UNESCO member states.

The full report will be available free online for member states starting 15 November, 2013.
