The bilingual publication provides information and fancy illustrations of the 19 Brazilian sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List: 11 of these sites are classified as cultural heritage, seven as natural heritage and one – Rio de Janeiro – is in the category of cultural landscape. These sites are ruled by the 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, of which Brazil is one of the signatories.
