The main purposes of this meeting are:
- to consider the report by the Chairperson of the Committee to the Meeting;
- to elect six members of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict;
- to approve amendments to the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Second Protocol to the Hague Convention: Immediate surroundings;
- to approve amendments to the Guidelines related to procedural aspects of the submission of requests for international or other categories of assistance from the Fund;
- to consider the report on the implementation of the strategy for encouraging ratifications of the Second Protocol to the 1954 Hague Convention;
- to introduce the table into the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Second Protocol related to the Procedure for the granting of enhanced protection.

3rd Meeting of the Parties to the 1999 Second Protocol to the Hague Convention

The main purposes of this meeting were the endorsement of the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Second Protocol and the adoption of the guidelines concerning the use of the Fund for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. Further, six members of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict were elected for a four-year term (2013): Argentina, Austria, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Romania and Switzerland.

2nd meeting of the Parties to the 1999 Second Protocol to the Hague Convention

The main purpose of this meeting is twofold: (i) to elect the six members of the Committee whose mandate expired in 2007; and, (ii) to consider the Draft Guidelines elaborated and adopted by the second meeting of the Committee. The six Members elected are Cyprus, Finland, Greece, Lithuania, Japan and the Netherlands.

1st Meeting of the Parties to the 1999 Second Protocol to the Hague Convention

The essential purpose of the meeting of States party to the Second Protocol to the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict consisted in the election of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, composed of Austria; El Salvador; Libyan Arab Jamahiriya; Peru; Serbia and Montenegro, and Switzerland (elected for a four-year term); and Argentina; Cyprus; Finland; Greece; the Islamic Republic of Iran; and Lithuania (elected for a two-year term).
This meeting was organized jointly with the sixth meeting of the High Contracting Parties to the Hague Convention and both meetings lead to the adoption of a set of recommendations.
