UNESCO gender assessment platform for teacher education discussed by Asia-Pacific partners

Ha Noi, 28 May 2018 - UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education (UNESCO Bangkok) in collaboration with UNESCO Ha Noi office has organized a regional training workshop on online gender assessment tools for teacher education in Asia-Pacific in Ha Noi on 28-29 May 2018. Around 50 participants comprising education policy-makers, planners, experts, teacher educators and researchers from 22 countries in the Asia-Pacific region are attending the workshop.

UNESCO, in collaboration with SWEDESD, organized a Regional Workshop on Advancing ESD Policy in the Mekong region in Ha Noi

On 8-9 May 2018, the Regional Workshop on Advancing ESD Policy in the Mekong Region was organized in Ha Noi within the framework of the project “Strengthening ESD Policy in Viet Nam” supported by the Government of Japan. The workshop, a joint effort of UNESCO and the Uppsala University’s Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD), brought together participants from five Mekong countries: Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam.

National Policy Dialogue on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) held in Ha Noi

Hanoi, 24 April 2018 - The Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES) of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) together with UNESCO Ha Noi Office organized a National Policy Dialogue on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Viet Nam within the framework of “Strengthening ESD Policy in Viet Nam” funded by the Government of Japan.

MOET and UNESCO conduct a series of ESD policy advancing workshops in the North, South, and Central of Viet Nam for educational policy makers and authorities

Ha Noi, 9 February 2018 – UNESCO and the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (DSTE) under the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) conducted a series of training workshops in Da Nang, Ha Noi, and Ho Chi Minh City for educational policy makers and authorities. These workshops were held within the framework of “Strengthening Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Policy in Viet Nam” funded by the Japanese Funds-in-Trust (JFIT)

UNESCO addresses Vietnamese youth on a culture of peace

Ho Chi Minh City, 18 November – UNESCO Representative to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Michael Croft engaged 150 students at Viet Nam National University in an interactive session on a culture of peace during the official launch of the Peace Culture Education Program.

Understanding inclusion and participation in working with youth

Ha Noi, 12 October 2017 – With the ever-growing role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, UNESCO and UNFPA jointly led a two-day workshop from 11-12 October on strengthening the inclusion of young people within the review of youth policies and frameworks. Based on UNESCO’s toolkit “Developing Evidence-Based, Participatory, Gender Equal and Socially Inclusive Youth Policies in Southeast Asia,” participants identified solutions to strengthen the voice of youth in policy development.
