03 July 2018

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, today called for light to be shed on the cause of death of Muhammad Yusuf, an Indonesian reporter who died in detention on 10 June.

“I condemn the killing of Muhammad Yusuf,” said the Director-General, “and I call on the authorities to conduct a transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.”
