International Assistance

LIBYA

On 22 November 2016, Libya, in its capacity of State Party to the 1999 Second Protocol, submitted a request on an emergency basis for the granting of international assistance in the amount of US$50,000 related to implementation of emergency measures, such as rapid assessment, monitoring, relocation and on-site security enhancements concerning the following cultural properties: (i) “Al-Gaghbub oasis”; (ii) Museum of “al-Gaygab”; (iii) Museum of “Gasr Libya”; (iv) “Al-Koffra oasis.

MALI

On 18 May 2016, Mali, in its capacity of State Party to the 1999 Second Protocol, submitted a request for the granting of international assistance in the amount of US$40,000 from the Fund for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. The request aims at financing preparatory measures to ensure the highest level of protection to the Tomb of Askia, a cultural World Heritage site.
