Through its Decision 12.COM 10 of December 2017, the Committee recommended the General Assembly to approve some amendments to the Operational Directives so as to move towards a regional cycle of national reporting on the implementation of the Convention (Form ICH-10). In that same decision, the Committee took note that the calendar for the first regional cycle of national reporting will be established by the Committee itself at its thirteenth session in 2018 (13.COM), and that a transition period necessary for reforming the periodic reporting mechanism will be followed by the submission of national reports from the first region on 15 December 2020 for examination by the Committee at its sixteenth session in 2021 (16.COM). The General Assembly will have to confirm this whole new reporting system at its seventh session in June 2018 (7.GA).
For this reason, States Parties are invited to take this into account when considering the deadlines presented below with regard to the submission of periodic reports on the implementation of the Convention.
This change does not affect the reports on the status of elements inscribed on the List of Intangible Cultural heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding (Form ICH-11) which will continue to follow the current rules and deadlines.

Following table presents the situation of all States Parties vis-a-vis the submission of periodic reports on the implementation of the Convention and on the status of elements inscribed on the Lists.
The reports submitted before the 15 December of a given year are examined by the Committee the year after.
