In 2008 a 4-year plan for HIV and AIDS Education and Prevention in Ireland was published. The plan aimed to contribute to a reduction in new infections of HIV and AIDS through education and prevention measures. It also aimed to guide and inform the development of policy and services in the statutory and non-statutory sectors with responsibility in this regard. This report presents an update on the progress of the implementation of the actions in the HIV and AIDS Education and Prevention Plan 2008-2012.
Groups of men who have sex with men (MSM) are not uniform throughout the Southeast Asian region. As the groups vary, their need of health coverage, social acceptance and information varies. This Brief claims that design of policies, programs and advocacies must be tailored to the local context. There are several factors to take into consideration; age, urban/rural, social context and laws that criminalize certain behaviors. Se alcanzó una "meseta", es decir un control de la epidemia en la población general. Dos uruguayos por día eran notificados de la enfermedad, actualmente, la cifra descendió a uno, lo que demuestra que las acciones preventivas están dando sus frutos.

Chapter 1 of this report explores the international context of HIV and AIDS prevention, outlining key international Declarations of Commitment and policy developments. A number of national strategy documents from a selection of high-income countries are reviewed in relation to the core principles and key actions guiding their national-level responses to HIV and AIDS prevention. …
