To better understand the current situation of sexuality education at school and the barriers for implementing effective programs, more research on educators and their experiences within the context of professional development is needed. Thus, we reviewed the broader curriculum and policy content for sex education in Australian tertiary teaching institutions, as well as the availability and content of pre-service teacher training.

This is the sixth national HIV strategy to be adopted in Australia. It builds on five previous strategies which guided Australia's response to HIV and AIDS between 1989 and 2009. The national response has been adjusted over the last decade to recognise the dramatic advances in HIV treatment since 1996. However, there remains no cure or effective vaccine for HIV on the horizon. It is important to recognise this reality in focusing on the need to reinvigorate prevention and to reinvest in a long-term, comprehensive response to HIV. …
The Sexual and Reproductive Health of Young Victorians is a report resulting from a collaborative project between the Family Planning Victoria, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Centre for Adolescent Health in Victoria, Australia. The goal of the project was to further the community's understanding of young Victorians' sexual and reproductive health - and to propose ways in which it might be improved. …
The original project was designed to examine the resonances between gender as it constructed in the occupational setting and the HIV response of young people. Data were generated through a large scale national survey of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) apprentices in the occupational streams of hairdressing, automotive, and commercial cookery. A total of 4283 apprentices from 52 colleges across all states and territories of Australia completed the survey. This report presents some main indices on HIV-related issues drawn from this database.
In this national HIV/AIDS Strategy Australia leads the way in responding to the challenges posed by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In providing direction for Australia's continuing response to HIV/AIDS, this strategy builds on the experience and knowledge that has been developed in Australia during nearly two decades of combating the virus.
