Ratification by Ireland of the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (The Hague, 14 May 1954) and accession to its Second Protocol (The Hague, 26 March 1999)

On 17 May 2018, Ireland deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and of accession to its Second Protocol.

In accordance with the terms of Article 33(2) of the Convention and Article 43(2) of the Second Protocol, the Convention and its Second Protocol will enter into force with respect to Ireland three months after the deposit of these instruments, that is to say on 17 August 2018.
