Beijing Language and Culture University visits UNESCO

UNESCO Africa Department received a delegation from the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) at the Organization's headquarters on 6 September 2018. This 56-year-old university is specialized in the teaching of culture and the Chinese language to foreign students.

The two institutions mentioned possible areas of collaboration among which: the organization of the forum on artificial intelligence which will take place in Morocco next December, the implementation of the "African Week" by the BLCU, the establishment of a program for young entrepreneurs.

Africa Department and Beijing Language and Culture University also discussed the possibility of a financial contribution from BLCU for research programs aimed at: developing the use of artificial intelligence to facilitate language learning (African and Chinese), helping ethnic minorities to learn their history in order to preserve their culture, and supporting the education of young people.
