Technical facilities

Radio studio

The use of UNESCO’s television studio and radio facilities is free of charge. However, transmission charges (uplink, satellite, etc) and the cost of the ISDN call are the responsibility of the broadcaster.
UNESCO Radio and TV studios are fully equipped with audiovisual recording, editing, duplication and satellite transmission material.

TV and transmission facilities

UNESCO operates a fully-equipped single camera television studio (teleprompter, ISDN audio, and component and SDI Audio/Video Matrix in PAL-Standard Definition, 4/3) and transmission facilities for unilateral tape feeds in Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, DV and DVCAM formats in PAL as well as for live or taped interviews on UNESCO issues. UNESCO’s television studio facilities are free of charge; however, the transmission charges (uplink, satellite, etc) are the responsibility of the broadcaster. Transmissions are via GlobeCast. Interested broadcasters should book transmissions directly with Paris Serte citing UNESCO as source.

Video Editing facilities

UNESCO has fully equipped non-linear editing facilities (Avid SDI non linear editing system, Final Cut), online digital post production facility with mixer and digital effect generator (SONY DFS 700: 2 channels DME, real time 3D effect), editing table (SONY BVE 2000), sound table, character generator, speaker booth, digital BETA recorders & players, BETA SP, DV CAM available for use by broadcasters wishing to edit and transmit stories related to UNESCO issues. UNESCO can provide limited duplication of video material on the following formats: DVcam, DVD-Video,Web file, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam.

Radio facilities

The UNESCO radio studio is equipped with ISDN and business phone capabilities for radio broadcasters wishing to record interviews on UNESCO subjects. The use of the studio facilities is free of charge; however, the cost of the ISDN call is the responsibility of the broadcaster.
