Refugees like everyone else have the right to quality higher education

Every two seconds someone is forced to flee their home to escape war, persecution or natural disaster.

As they arrive in their host communities and countries and begin to rebuild their lives, access to education is more important than ever.

But today, only one per cent of eligible refugees have access to higher education.

UNESCO, the only UN agency with a mandate in higher education, works with governments to ensure that refugees get an equal chance at learning.
