Regional Capacity Development Workshop: Preservation of Documentary Heritage for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

This two-day workshop will develop practical measures for preserving documentary heritage in a framework of disaster risk reduction (DRR), drawing on a multidisciplinary perspective. In addition, UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme will be promoted within the region.
The workshop will bring together experts from all levels to exchange best practices on documentary heritage and to develop a set of practical measures on preservation and disaster risk reduction. It will be the first time that such a capacity building workshop is taking place within the South Asian region.

UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme will also be introduced, where its significance for preservation efforts of documentary heritage will be highlighted.

The seminar will be followed up with similar activities in 2019 within the region.
