Call for Applications | The 2018 Edition of Tongyeong Creative City of Music ISANGYUN Competition is open
Tongyeong International Music Foundation (TIMF) is holding the 2018 edition of ISANGYUN Competition, an important annual event which is held in November, alternating between the disciplines of piano, violin and cello, and organized in remembrance of the Korean composer Isang Yun (1917-1995).
This year, the event will be gathering around 100 applicants for the preliminary round, and 20 competitors will be performing in the discipline of cello in Tongyeong Creative City of Music. Involving the participation of an international jury and the presence of the artist Andrien Perruchon, Conductor at the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, the competition is an opportunity for the artists to study and perform the music of one of the great composers of the 20th century Isang Yun, who dedicated his work to peace beyond bounderies. ISANGYUN Competition is carrying this vision with the support of young musicians from all over the world promoting cultural exchanges through music. The 2019 edition will hold the next piano competition, while violin will be featured again in 2020.
The call for applications will run until 13 August 2018.
