The Creative City of Nassau inaugurates the SeaWords Bahamas Literary Festival in November 2018
Nassau is proud to launch the SeaWords Bahamas ALIV, a literary festival entirely dedicated to the celebration of writing. The event will take place in November and will highlight strategies to drive the creative industries in The Bahamas by promoting literature as an art form and as a key creative industry with the power to bring valuable diversification to the Bahamian economy.
The festival will welcome several Bahamians and international participants to technique-building workshops on writing poetry, fiction and not-fiction, writing for the media, poetry and playwriting, film script development, the book’s journey from concept to publication, and intellectual property law. The festival will also examine the natural interplay between technology and arts involved in the literary fields and will involve the young population in a wide range of activities.
The event will engage the participation of the UCCN as well as the Caribbean region as a way to establish linkages and build partnerships with other cities. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience and enjoy other aspects of Bahamian art, culture and heritage.
