The event will focus on how the phenomenon of fake news within the context of freedom of expression is facilitating the spreading of xenophobia and bias towards migrants and refugees. Through the use of case studies, the event will examine how governments and others actors including NGOs and the UN system have been responding to the circulation of fake news.
