From 27 to 28 September 2018 UNESCO Almaty organized the meeting in Dushanbe of journalism universities and the training centers of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting devoted to the 28 September 2018 - International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) - 2018. IDUAI has particular relevance for the new 2030 Development Agenda, and in particular with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 16.10 which calls for ensuring public access to information and protection of fundamental freedoms.Message from Ms Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, on IDUAI is distributed among participants.
As the result the participants of the meeting are aware of
- Practical application of international standards in journalism teaching and training, specifically the UNESCO model curricula for journalism education
- Importance of Access to Information for sustainable development
- World Trends in Freedom of Expression and Media Development (WTR)
- Journalists and teachers have benefited from gender-sensitive campaign and capacity-building activities

UNESCO Almaty translated resource material into Tajik - the UNESCO model curricula for journalism education.
