Coalition of African Cities against Racism and Discrimination

The Coalition of African Cities against Racism and Discrimination was launched in September 2006 in Nairobi (Kenya) during the 4th Africities Summit. Since its inception, 59 African cities have joined the Coalition.

The Coalition of African Cities has been established within the framework of the International Coalition of Inclusive and Sustainable Cities − ICCAR, launched by UNESCO in 2004. Its principal objective is to create a network of African cities interested in sharing experiences to improve their policies to fight racism, discrimination and xenophobia. Durban (South Africa) has taken on the role as the network’s "lead city".
