Meeting for the Lauch of the International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development

The 13 December 2015, a meeting in Beijing will launched the International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development (ICCSD).
On November 2015, the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference approved the establishment of an International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development in Beijing as a centre under the auspice of UNESCO (category II centre) whose future activities will be linked to the fulfilment of the UCCN objectives.
In this context, the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, with the support of the National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO, and in cooperation with UNESCO organizes an encounter with representatives of the UNESCO Creatives Cities and international experts on urban planning and creativity following the Hangzhou International Conference on “Culture for sustainable Cities”.
This encounter will also mark the official launch of the International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development, and initiate cooperation between the UCCN and the Center by identifying potential areas of collaboration in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. This event will also provide an opportunity for the city of Beijing to share its experience in placing creativity and design at the core of its sustainable urban development strategy.
