The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW62) is now over, but our push for gender equality continues. Through comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), UNESCO and its partners work to address the different ways that gender norms can influence inequality, and how these inequalities can affect the overall health and well-being of children and young people. Children and young people must learn, in an age-appropriate way, that all persons are equally valuable regardless of their gender, that gender stereotypes can lead to bias and inequality, and that all forms of gender-based violence are wrong and a violation of human rights. To find out more, watch UN leaders and global champions for CSE convene at ‘Education for a healthy future’, a side-event on CSE at this year’s CSW62, in this new UNESCO video.
